I live near the River Avon in Worcestershire.
Here the river is navigable by canal boats and leisure craft,
so we have a system of locks and weirs.
As the water tumbles over a weir, it` creates fascinating patterns.
Where logs and branches are snagged, the water flows past furiously,
creating ripples and eddies.
Just under the surface, water weeds are caught in the current.
Their elegant strands meet and mingle
with the troubled reflections of bankside trees.
